Many people view an older person as lonely, sad, or grumpy. They see them as someone who can’t take care of themselves anymore and need help. What I want my artwork to explain is that every elderly person has a story to tell. They have gone through amazing things and have great advice to give.
Through these pictures, I want people to see the stories and experiences older people have to share, whether it be an old man who has been in the army, a widow who had an amazing husband; or someone who has traveled all over the world. Their stories are still important to the world, and they should be able to continue to share them.
These pictures were taken of many different people. At a memory care center, from neighbors, random people I met, and family members. Most of the people that I talked to were willing to share one of their special moments for others to see.
